There's a C#m groove called 'Doo Rag' by Galactic that the mighty Straightjacket used as a warm-up jam for practice as well as our two Jiggi Juke Joint gigs.
Here are 3 versions: (Click on any of the three to play)
- Backing track of me doing rhythm and bass (Nice to jam to)
- My lead to that backing track
- My son Miles' lead guitar and keyboard to the same backing track

Just a heads-up for anyone wanting to try a little funky backing track for a jam.
Hey Tex, I haven't logged on for a while, been so busy with this new book and talking to Frnkie a whole bunch. He's so inspirational. Can't wait too meet him. Thankyou for linking me up with him. He's such a help. Anyway, loved your 'Bad Habits' track. You are so good at these JJ Cale type bluesy ballads. You must load them all onto a flash disc or CD and bring them with you. We are going to have lotsa fun. The 'Doo Rag' backing track is also nice. I liked Miles' take. I see the raw backing track as a little jazz piece, almost like Dave Bruberg's 'Take Five'. Wonderful stuff.
Hey groovy little backing track. We have either done that before or you've played it for me, but I know the groove. REally cool, I played first to backing track and then listened to yours lots of pararlles lots of difference, you had some cool "blats " as we call them.I was playing mine on a nylon which didn't fit,you had a nice effect.
I really liked yours and Miles piece. Didn't know what to expect, but thought it would be more all over the place but he kept the groove and worked it in his genre, still worked with the the prescribed notation +or- and never really left the building. I think Robin was right about the Dave Bruebeck type of thang. I could see it in a modern dance # with everybody dressed in full body tights and just groovin in a drug induced fashion,a modern day punk/jazz 'season of the witch'. Give some Kudos to the boy from me.......Keek
